If Only Time Had A Fear Of Flying...

If Only Time Had A Fear Of Flying...

My two children recently had big birthdays...my daughter turned 21 last week, and my son turned 18 last month. I also had a birthday last week, but not a "big" one. Let's just say I am now in the next higher age-range on those silly surveys we're enticed to complete, in hopes of hearing, "Tell Sue what she's won!"

I remember when my daughter was a tiny baby, everyone telling me to cherish those moments because "they grow up so quickly." You find it hard to believe those words when you're waking up for the 4th time in the middle of the night, or trying to convince a very opinionated toddler that a healthy diet should consist of more than Kraft Mac & Cheese.

These past two decades have been full of joy...and ocassional tears. As I was creating a photo album for her surprise 21st birthday party last week, I sat on my couch, surrounded by pictures of both my children at different stages and ages. After about an hour, the images began blurring together...and I had to be careful not to let the tears fall and ruin those lovely memories.

My babies are all grown up. My youngest is visiting colleges, and my oldest is already 2 hours away, working towards making her dreams come true. And they are both so excited about their future!

I just wish time would slow down...for them and for me. Take the bus.
Or better yet, walk. It's good exercise!
